NMDC warns of Maoist threats, market share risk as JSW, AMNS India ramp up iron ore output
New Delhi: India’s biggest iron-ore merchant miner, NMDC Ltd has flagged Maoist activity as a continuing operational risk in Chhattisgarh, its largest sourcing State for the mineral. The company has also highlighted changing market dynamics and global volatility, including increased competition and backward integration by steel-makers as possible risks leading to loss in market share.

Titan’s jewellery business holds market share; Q2 expansion to pick up pace
Titan Company’s jewellery division sustained its national market share in Q1 FY26, after marginal gains last year, according to Ajoy Chawla, CEO – Jewellery. Speaking on the post-earnings call, Chawla said this assessment was based on multiple data sources, including market data, internal tracking, and World Gold Council insights. While some regional players may have ceded share to multiple national brands, Titan sustained its position, he asserted.

Oil India profit flat in Q1
State-owned oil India on Tuesday reported a marginal increase of 1.5% in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY26 at Rs 2,046.5 crore against Rs 2,016.3 crore in Q1FY25. On a sequential basis, the net profit rose 37% from Rs1,497.97 crore in Q4FY25. 
HPCL-Mittal Energy enters auto fuel retailing market
New Delhi: HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) said on Tuesday that it has entered the burgeoning Indian fuel retail business with the launch of a new generation of AI-enabled energy station. HMEL is a joint venture between state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and Mittal Energy Investment, which is part of the Lakshmi N Mittal Group. The first retail outlet is now open in Sector 108, Noida (Uttar Pradesh) offering a comprehensive suite of conventional and alternative energy options, alongside a range of non-fuel retail services designed to redefine consumer experience.

The Cabinet on Tuesday approved investment of Rs 8,146.21 crore for construction of Tato-II Hydro Electric Project (HEP) in Shi Yomi District of Arunachal Pradesh. The estimated completion period for the project is 72 months.
US to probe anti-dumping claims on Indian solar PV cell and module imports
New Delhi: The US Department of Commerce has initiated anti dumping and countervailing duty investigations on solar PV cell and module imports from India, Indonesia and Laos during calendar year 2024. The decision by the Commerce Department was made after the Alliance for American Solar Manufacturing and Trade filed a petition on July 17.
